New Tamron 70-300mm VC Sample Shots

This lens, as we wrote about before, is generating a lot of buzz. Many Canon users are considering it in light of their brand’s equivalent, which costs at least $100 more. (The L is in a league of it’s own) Nikon users, being the first to have this lens released for their cameras, are starting to put out sample photos. Recently, we created a group for the new lens on Flickr, and we’ve got some shots pouring in already. Thanks to the contributor, luckypapalogy, for making his images available in the Creative Commons. He shot the following images with a Nikon D40. Click the images below for full resolution.

So far, looking pretty good. We’re impressed with sharpness and quality of the bokeh.

Here are the MTF charts from Tamron:

Here is a good thread on dpreview with a ton of great sample photos (although not full resolution).

And you can buy the lens on Amazon here for Nikon and here for Canon.
