Tribute to Steve Jobs & Apple

No doubt you’ve heard the news of the passing of Steve Jobs, founder of Apple. If you haven’t, the homepage and tribute on apple.com will make it clear. It’s a sad day for the world and all fans of technology. There’s a lot going around about Steve Jobs and Apple right now. Let’s take a look at several of the more interesting pieces floating around, in order to celebrate his life and the difference he has made for so many millions.

I’ve been a long time user of Apple products, and happily so. Here’s what I use and how they’ve helped me out on the job and in the studio:
  • 27″ iMac - This is our workhorse here in the studio. Its the command center for this blog, photo editing, video production, our SNS platforms, and general awesomeness.
  • Aperture - This handles all of our photos and even videos too. Aperture makes organization and editing easier than ever. I was a late adoptee but it’s streamlined my imaging workflow tremendously.
  • iMovie - All of the videos you see of Aperture products were made with this underrated little piece of software. Why not Final Cut? No need. This ain’t Hollywood. iMovie does everything we need for short and simple product videos.
  • 15″ MacBook Pro - My workhorse at home for freelance assignments. Runs Aperture, CS5, and everything else I throw at it.
  • iPhone - I couldn’t live without this thing, especially for emails and searching for info while on the go. It’s a computer in a pocket, for sure.
So thanks to Steve for inspiring and creating these products. Hopefully his vision will live on in all Apple products to come. May he rest in peace.
