We sent out some of our latest Amaran LEDs to Dave Dugdale recently and he just put together a short video comparing them to two other brands. As usual we never ask for biased reviews so you’ll get  an honest opinion, including a bit of dirt, from one of the most respected DSLR video makers in the game.

A few things to note from his review:

• The ikans are priced significantly higher, at $120 and $300, vs the Amaran’s $60 price tag.
• All of our LED lights are now shipping with a new tripod mount.
• The original Amaran 198 (not A or C) utilizes all 198 LED lights.
