Is there any chance to make a test review with video about your new product? Could you send me one soon? Thanks

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Hi David, it’s because Nikon has a different USB protocol than Canon. We are currently working on developing a Nikon model though.

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Igor, stay tuned, it should be available by the end of the month. Check with your local dealer, and also keep your eyes open on eBay and Amazon.

Hi, I just found out about this product and I will purchase that as soon as it is for NIKON use!!!

    Hi,
I am a canon dslr master class film maker.
My ff is a right pain as it often restricts me from being able to use my matte box.
Does this work with manual lenses or only motor driven lenses as I own a numer of M42 primes and would love to know that it’s possible..

    REGARDS
    Isaiah.

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Hi Isaiah, manual focus lenses will work, but you lose control to focus or set focus points. However you can set exposure settings and take stills and videos, etc. Just no focus control…

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog Myles

    Hi there,

Is it possible to get a long cable to rig up so I could use the DSLR at the end of a 6ft jib and control the camera from the other end?

    Thanks,

    Myles

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Yes Myles, that would be possible, but you’d have to purchase the longer cable separately.

  • http://alboem.com George

Hi. When I found the device in ebay, I double asked for compatibility with 5DmkIII and they told me after asking you that it fits.
It works for a few seconds and then the camera crashes with ERR 70.
    Any help?
Can it be updated via USB?
    Thanks…

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Looks like that dealer told you the wrong information. V-Control is not yet compatible with 5D3. We are working on it…

  • http://alboem.com George

will I be able to update the firmware myself via USB?

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog Henry

Can the V-control unit work with Canon 650D?

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Hi Henry, unfortunately this model is not compatible with V-Control, yet…

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Hi George, as of now, we don’t have any firmware updates…

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog/feed/ George

The dealer told me that he had a mail from you stating that it is compatible.
I asked him to forward it to me and I’ll let you know.
BUT, you’re not answering my question:
WILL I BE ABLE TO UPDATE IT MYSELF?
    YES OR NO?

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog Satish

Hi. I have 7d, when using on jib we get preview from usb port. If we use v-control usb focus controler we can get camare view from second usb port?

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog Satish

can we get A/V out from your controler?

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Hi Satish, ther eis no A/V out from the controller, only 2 USB ports. A/V out ports are usually found on the camera.

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Hi Satish, not sure I understand your questions, but you’re unable to get both live view/LCD preview and focus control at the same time, as they both utilize the AV-out (USB) port.

This product looks great. Any timeline as to when it will be ready for the 5D3?

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Hi Matthew, V-Control is now 5D3 compatible! Though you might want to wait a few weeks until they get out to dealers. And it’s always good to test in person first. If you get an old one, we should be able to exchange for a new one (waiting on word about that…)

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog Satish

    hi
how can we get preview from 30 feet distance when using v-control usb follow focus? have you any solution?

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Satish, seems like this would require a 30ft USB cord! Or you could wait until we develop a wireless version with LCD (probably won’t happen anytime soon!)

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog Ahmed

Hi i upgrade my camera to 650D so there is any chance that it will work with it in the near future ?!!

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog The A-Team

Hi Ahmed, although we’ve updated V-Control for the 5D3, we haven’t yet done so for the 650D. No word on this at the moment…

I want to use this with my camera (5d mark ii) on a jib arm. if i use a long usb cable for example 30 feets cables between camera and V-Control , can i use this as well? is may long usb cables makes problems in focusing?

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog/feed/ The A-Team

Ali, I can’t exactly say because we haven’t tested it under this scenario, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. For best results, use the cable we provided, of course.

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog Ali Farahani

Thanks for reply. but if it is possible plz do a test with a long cable . its very important for use camera on the moving equipments. plz share your results. i think if it gives nice results with long cables can help to increase number of sales.

    Hi
Can I use this device along with canon 60d and an external monitor that uses the HDMI port of the camera?. the competitors does allow that.
    thanks

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog/feed/ The A-Team

Yoni, yes you can. Actually, we have a video monitor coming out in the next few days. Stay tuned to blog for more information!

  • http://www.xtreemtec.nl Xtreemtec

I also need to know if this controller is going to work well with 30 feet (10 meters) of usb extension.
For example does it put 5V on the line to power an Extensioncord?

We have had a solution now with a tablet but after connecting a long cable the driver on the tablet was not strong enough for a relaiable connection. Had a lot of drop outs..

Now we working with a laptop and use the Canon remote shoot utility. But we need something that is small enough to put on the jib.

  • http://www.aputure.com/blog Luis C

Sony A65 A77 blow away any canon for video shooting at price point.
please give us this control for this camera as soon as possible thank you Luis.
