At Photokina, the display for this camera took up quite a sizable portion of the Fujifilm booth (which itself was very, very large). 3D imaging seems to be a new fad, and we think it is just that: a fad. Despite the glitzy and glamorous screen which will be sure to lure in curious customers, we thought it was gimmicky, and indeed dizzying to look at. Of course, the screen can be switched to normal display. And you can only view the images in 3D afterwards using special glasses. The zoom range only goes from 35-100mm, the aperture only ranges from f/3.7-4.3, and the shutter only goes from 1/4s to 1/1000s; truly limiting in many respects. Disappointing when you consider it has the creative manual modes. Despite a solid design and good external controls, we think this camera should be resigned to the digital dustbin. Although some people might find it exciting and worthwhile.
