At the end of another busy month in the Aputure group on Flickr, it’s always fun to gather the team around and pour over the best photos. We narrowed it down to these five images. And in the end, the final shot won on a narrow margin by just one vote.
Hanif Shoaei is no stranger to the Aputure blog, having been featured here in our shooter spotlight series. So it’s with great satisfaction that we see him take home the top prize in the first month of 2011. We’re not quite sure how he got this shot, but we’re sure it was a brave maneuver, as you can see he’s going 70kph. The team members cited everything from “composition, lighting, movement, and coolness” for choosing the shot as the winner. Congrats! Hanif will take home a new set of Trigmasters.
This shot by Wilson Hurst actually won last month’s contest before we realized it was taken in January. So it’s a shame to see it lose out so narrowly this time around, for it’s surely an excellent, striking photo. Team members liked the colors, the angle, and personally I like the subject matter, having grown up next to a grave yard and frequently playing in it.
Rosane Miller is an active contributor to our group, and we’re sure she’ll take home top honors sometime in the future. This shot was chosen for it’s “fresh feeling” and “beautifully, but not overly saturated colors”.
Honorable Mentions include a couple of lovely ladies:
Good luck next month! Look forwarding to seeing more great images in the group.
